Sarah Nadeau and Jami Leach Secure Dismissal in Premises Liability Case

We congratulate Garan Lucow Miller P.C. attorneys Sarah Nadeau and Jami Leach on their recent victory on behalf of their client, a casino, in a premises liability case. 

The plaintiffs claimed that they were injured by a defective elevator at the casino. They alleged that the elevator doors malfunctioned and that the casino knew of the alleged defect and failed to remedy it before the incident.  

Judge Charles Hegarty, of Wayne County Circuit Court, granted summary disposition to our client finding that the plaintiffs could not establish that the elevator malfunctioned or that the casino breached any duty. 

The Michigan Court of Appeals, composed of Judges Kathleen Jansen, Michelle M. Rick, and Sima G. Patel, agreed and affirmed the dismissal of the case against our client.
