Category: News

Grand Rapids, Michigan – Garan attorney Regina A. Berlin has been named a 2026 Influential Woman in Law by Michigan Lawyers Weekly.

The Influential Women in Law award honors women attorneys and judges for their excellent work on behalf of the justice system and for their clients, their commitment to their communities and their service to the profession.

Over the course of her 15-year legal career, Regina has built a reputation as a skilled and trusted litigator, handling a wide range of complex insurance defense matters, including no-fault and automobile negligence claims, premises liability cases, workers’ compensation matters, dog bite litigation, breach of contract disputes, and business litigation. Her ability to successfully navigate diverse areas of litigation while consistently delivering high-quality representation demonstrates her commitment to excellence in the practice of law.

Beyond her courtroom success, Regina is a deeply respected leader within Michigan’s broader legal community. She serves as Secretary of the Executive Committee for the Michigan Defense Trial Counsel (MDTC) and contributes to the efficient administration of justice as an Evaluating Member of the Kent County Case Evaluation Panel. Her dedication to upholding the integrity of the profession is further reflected in her work with the State Bar of Michigan’s Character and Fitness Committee and the Attorney Grievance Commission. At Garan, Regina champions firm growth, education, and culture through her active participation on the firm’s Marketing and Diversity & Inclusion Committees, and by co-chairing the annual Grand Rapids Spring Seminar.

Regina’s dedication also extends to her local community. She serves as the Board President for Randy’s House, a nonprofit in Greenville, Michigan, dedicated to supporting individuals and families in recovery, and is an active member of the North East Citizens Action Association.

This award is a well-deserved testament to Regina’s professionalism, integrity, and commitment to serving both her clients and her community.

On September 21, Michigan Lawyers Weekly will recognize the Influential Women in Law honorees in a “Influential Women of Law 2026” supplement.
