  • 1969 – 1977 – Assistant Prosecuting Attorney and General Practice of Law primarily in the Counties of Newaygo, Oceana, Mecosta, Osceola, Lake, Mason, Kent, and sometimes others in the state.
  • 1977 – 1978 – Elected Prosecuting Attorney for the County of Newaygo, Michigan
  • 1979 – 2014 – Elected Circuit Court Judge for the 27th Judicial Circuit Court of Michigan, which includes the Counties of Newaygo and Oceana. During this time, I was assigned by the Supreme Court to serve as a Judge of the Court of Appeals and to several other challenging cases out of my elected jurisdiction. As Chief Judge, I advocated the building of the present Newaygo County Courthouse and oversaw the development of the Family Court in the 27th Circuit.
  • 2015 – Present – Of counsel position with Garan Lucow Miller, P.C. where I will conduct facilitations, mediations and arbitrations.
